Municipal elections in Coaldale come with several key dates and multiple options for casting your ballot. In a general election, residents vote to fill six councillor positions and one mayoral position.
Unlike many larger municipalities, Coaldale does not use a ward system. All candidates run at large, meaning the six councillor candidates with the most votes are elected, along with the mayoral candidate who receives the most votes.
Did you know? When voting for councillors, you don’t have to select six candidates—you can vote for as many or as few as you like, as long as you don’t exceed six.
The Coaldale Chamber of Commerce invites you to a Municipal Election Forum — a community event where residents can meet the candidates, ask questions, and learn more about their vision for Coaldale.
Location: Civic Square Atrium (1801 – 20 Ave)
Date: Tuesday, October 7
Time: 7:00 PM
This is more than just an event — it’s where business leaders, residents, and future decision-makers come together. The Chamber exists not only to strengthen local business, but also to foster community dialogue and engagement. They believe informed voices help build a stronger community, and this is your chance to get involved, ask questions, and make your vote count.
Join us for an evening of conversation and community connection. Mark your calendar and be part of the discussion about Coaldale’s future.
